Belgium @ UN

Belgium is regularly elected to a large number of UN organs with selective membership. A number of Belgians also participate in various organs in their personal capacity. 

Here is an overview of current Belgian mandates and candidacies to UN bodies.

In the run up to our Belgian presidency of the Fifth Committee (2022-2023), Belgium prepared a Fifth Committee Manual, gathering information on the rules, procedures, practices, and topics pertaining to the Fifth Committee of the General Assembly. It has been realized in cooperation with 38 Permanent Missions to the United Nations as well as several entities of the United Nations Secretariat, It is aimed to be a useful tool for delegates and the public at large, to foster a better understanding of the UN Budgetary Issues and the functioning of the Fifth Committee.
